As a fashion content writer I’m always interested to see performance wear step outside of the gym and onto the streets, becoming part of everyday city style. A prime example is the latest collaboration between Mizuno Sportstyle and Danish label Han Kjøbenhavn, that combines trail running functionality with an experimental urban esthetic.
The Other Side Of Urban Wear
Mizuno Sportstyle has teamed up with Han Kjøbenhavn to create a 10-piece footwear and apparel collection for autumn/winter 2026 combining outdoor-inspired design with an urban esthetic. The collection will be available to retailers across EMEA and internationally.
The flagship model, the Wave Mujin TL, is priced at €180. Drawing from Mizuno’s trail-running platform, the shoe’s upper is textured for a worn, industrial look. Han Kjøbenhavn branding and functional details such as a specially developed Michelin outsole, technical eyelets, rope laces and rubberized downstrap complete the design.
Edge Technical Experimental Apparel
The same goes for the clothing collection, where technical fabrics are married to strong visual details. A handful of pieces are constructed from a transparent windproof shell fabric, such as the €250 Matt Jacket.
The collection also features the Tech Gilet and Shorts Matt (€130 each) and the Cap Matt (€50). Base layers include T-shirt €75, long sleeve top €85, tights €120 and socks €20. Combined, the pieces create a complete technical wardrobe that can be used for activewear and everyday city styles.
City Inspired is a community
One of the more interesting aspects of the collaboration is where it came from. The visual identity of the collection is inspired by everyday elements of the city that are often overlooked, such as fog, dust and bin bags. Han Copenhagen
The launch is also accompanied by a short film, Permanently in Between. The collection is inspired by people moving through water and concrete and architecture. It’s explored through light and movement and not traditional product shots.
As a fashion content writer, this collaboration for me is proof that technical sportswear is still very much in contemporary fashion. Mizuno’s trail running heritage meets Han Kjøbenhavn’s experimental spirit in pieces that bring outdoor-inspired style to the modern city.
